"From the time that I was 20 weeks pregnant with my son, to 31 weeks, I suffered from very uncomfortable pelvic pain that affected my daily routine until I began being treated by Ashley. She fit me into her schedule when I explained the discomfort I was in so late in my pregnancy, and thank goodness I reached out when I did.
I began seeing her every week leading up to my delivery, and even within the first visit, my pain subsided tremendously. The way that she explained the pelvic floor and its functions prior to treatment made it much easier to understand and feel comfortable with. She also sent me home with multiple exercises and stretches, paired with breathing exercises to help progress my recovery between sessions.
Ashley helped not only me, but also my husband, in preparing us for the delivery and labor of our first baby. She allowed him to come in for one of my appointments and gave us multiple different positions with the exercise ball and peanut ball to help progress in labor. With her help, we went into the hospital feeling much better prepared! I will absolutely be going to see her early in my next pregnancy to ensure I have a strong and relaxed pelvic floor to avoid any discomfort and highly recommend others do the same!”."

FAQs
Do you take insurance?
PelviMama Physical Therapy is a fee-for-service clinic and does not partner with insurance companies. Due to this, each patient will be responsible for payment for physical therapy services at the time of your visit.
At PelviMama, we are committed to providing the most individualized and comprehensive treatment possible to each patient to help them reach their goals. Unfortunately, physical therapists are limited when partnering with insurance companies. When partnering with insurance companies, physical therapists are not able to treat preventatively, which is what the foundation of PelviMama Physical Therapy was founded on.
Dr. Ashley Williams believes that choosing not to partner with insurance companies will allow her to spend adequate one-on-one time with each patient, helping them reach their goals faster and get back to the activities they enjoy without dysfunction or pain.
Dr. Ashley Williams is happy to provide an invoice or “Superbill” that patients can submit to their insurance independently for reimbursement if requested. We do accept payment in the form of credit card, HSA, FSA, check or cash.
Do I need a physical therapy prescription from my physician?
Under the Missouri State Practice Act for physical therapy services, Missouri is considered a direct access state. A prescription is not required to get started with treatment. However, there are limitations. If treatment lasts longer than 30 days or 10 visits, whichever comes first, the state law then requires a physical therapy prescription from a health care provider, which can include a physician, nurse practitioner, or chiropractor, to name a few. For telehealth, which includes education and coaching only, a prescription is not required.
What should I expect during my initial evaluation?
Your first visit as a new patient will be 60 minutes in length. Dr. Ashley Williams will do an extensive evaluation of your symptoms, injury, goals, and aspirations. Much of the first visit will rely heavily on education so that each patient understands the “why” behind their treatment. Dr. Ashley believes if patients know their “why” rather than just performing exercises, then that will produce more long term results and shorter time getting back to the activities you love to do. If appropriate and your symptoms/diagnosis would benefit from an internal examination, then Dr. Ashley would recommend this ahead of time and it would be your choice from there whether or not it is performed. Expect to find out the cause of your symptoms at this visit and then exit with a home exercise program to continue to work towards your goals. Lastly, please wear comfortable clothing since it is likely we will be moving around during our tests and measures during this visit.
